What is PriceOye
PriceOye - a fast-growing price comparison startup
E-commerce is one of the fastest growing industries in Pakistan. It is currently worth $60 million. Industry experts predict it grow to $600 million in 2018, and a whopping $1bn by 2020. This growth is enabled by the recent launch of 3G/4G services, growing awareness of technology, and increasing trust in ecommerce thanks to multi-million dollar campaigns from major players like TCS Yayvo, Daraz, Zameen, PakWheels, and OLX, to name a few.
As our industry grows, it is facing a number of challenges which it must resolve to maintain its momentum. The biggest challenge, perhaps, is that of online stores offering poor user experiences across the board. The second challenge, which is partly fueled by the first, is a sheer dearth of data on consumer shopping patterns.
By resolving these two challenges, and publishing our findings, we will be able to directly contribute to the sustained growth of Pakistan’s e-commerce industry. It will also directly help PriceOye - a fast-growing price comparison startup - to deliver a better user experience in its upcoming overhaul.
PriceOye - Group 1
The Product under discussion here is Price Oye- a price comparison engine. It is predominantly a website that does not only compare the product (cell phones for now) but also provides realistic user ratings to the customers. It aims at creating convenience for its customers as they try to make a calculated and educated decision regarding the purchase of a cell phone. Price Oye had been working to design their website such that it appeals to the senses of the user in a better way.
During our semester, we worked closely with one of the founders of PriceOye, Mr. Adnan Shafi. He has been extremely helpful in providing us with all the information we needed to carry out the design project. Moreover, he was very receptive of our suggestions and applied them to his company as well. The improved layout of the website has been implemented as well.
